Learn More About Clear UV at Home
Frequently Asked Questions
What is UV water purification, and how does it work?
UV water purification uses ultraviolet light to inactivate microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. Our Clear at Home system uses a UV-LED lamp, which destroys a wide range of pathogens effectively, and without added chemicals. Check out our blog to learn more.
How is Clear at Home different than other systems?
As a UV-LED system, Clear at Home is a unique product that uses 7X less energy than conventional UV lamps. This system also has a much longer lifespan and requires no maintenance over its lifetime.
What size of building or facility is this system designed for?
Clear at Home is designed for single homes or small commercial facilities. The right system for you depends on many factors including your building’s water flow rate and plumbing layout. We will assess your property and recommend the right system for you.
How effective is the system at killing bacteria and viruses?
Clear at Home provides 99.999999% disinfection of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. A full list of disinfection efficacies can be found in the technical specification sheet for this product.
Do I need additional chlorine or other chemicals?
No. Our UV system provides biological purification without the need for chlorine or chemical disinfectants. However, a small amount of residual disinfectant should still be used in the distribution system, as per local regulations.
What are the maintenance requirements?
Clear at Home has 10,000 hours of lamp life – that equates to roughly 3 years, depending on use. These systems typically don’t require any maintenance, but the lamps will require replacement after 10,000 hours.
Can this be integrated with my building’s existing plumbing?
Yes. Clear at Home is installed at the point of entry and integrates seamlessly with existing plumbing infrastructure. We handle full installation and custom design for your home or building.
